This  (too) shall (not) pass

04.04.2025—26.04.2025

This (too) shall (not) pass revolves around a video and a series of engraved objects derived from digital technologies, in direct relation to it.

In this exhibition, questions of permanence and fluidity will be explored in their dual nature—both alienating and emancipatory—while the notion of technological progress is critically reassessed. The iconic video game prompt “All unsaved progress will be lost” serves as a lens through which to reconsider loss and gain, within objects and environments emblematic of neoliberalism—screens, virtual spaces, simulations. Drawing from fantasy, horror, and science fiction, and pushing the limits of material endurance and attentional mechanics, Carin Klonowski (FRA) invites us to question the notions of novelty and wear, as well as hierarchical value systems. Through a form of empathy toward objects, she examines the conditions under which they become desirable to us—and the reasons behind their abandonment.
